The site navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move across top level links and expand / close menus in sub levels. Up and Down arrows will open main level menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. Tab will move on to the next part of the site rather than go through menu items.

Referee Training

TRAINING EDUCATION 1

To become a US Soccer Federation (USSF) referee you must attend a series of training clinics given by a specially trained and certified instructor and pass the associated test. WYS sponsors the Grade 8 and Grade 7 clinics, which are hosted by affiliated clubs throughout the state. There is no exception to these requirements, even if you were a player or coach.

Grade 8 Referee Course This course prepares an individual for matches of all youth games up to U14. The suggested minimum age to become a Grade 8 Referee is 12 at the time of registration. This certification will allow you to referee games for Wyoming League and at tournaments for teams up to U14.

For Grade 9 and Grade 8 certification there are no minimum requirements for game or grade experience, no fitness test or practical evaluation.

Grade 7 Referee Course This course prepares an individual for matches of adult amateur games. The minimum age to become a Grade 7 Referee is 17 and must be a Grade 8 referee for 1 year.

For Grade 7 certification there is no fitness test.

Grade 6 Referee Course Minimum age for Grade 6 Referee is 18 years old.

Complete Grade requirements can be found here.

Complete course requirements, including pre-course online testing will be posted as the information becomes available.
