The site navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move across top level links and expand / close menus in sub levels. Up and Down arrows will open main level menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. Tab will move on to the next part of the site rather than go through menu items.

Coach Training

As an affiliate of US Youth Soccer, Wyoming Soccer is able to provide a graduated series of coach training courses along with links for advanced training opportunities in surrounding states. This progressive format allows coaches to determine the level of training that will best meet their needs.

US Soccer Coaching Education Frequently Asked Questions

US Soccer National Coaching Licenses Include:

  • E License: U.S. Soccer Coaching certification begins at the state level. The National "E" license is an 18-hour course, which covers the elementary principles of coaching and prepares interested coaches for the "D" license course.

  • D License: The National D license is a 36 to 40-hour course designed for the experienced coach who has already earned a National E license. The focus of this course is to improve a coach’s ability to positively influence individual players and teams.

  • National Youth Certificate focuses upon the nature of children and the adjustments adults must make to coach them. The course curriculum covers the ages of 4-12 year olds. Each day of the course, the focus is upon one of the traditional soccer age groups of U-6, U-8, U-10 or U-12. The course combines both classroom (theory) and field (practical) sessions and concludes with written, oral and practical examinations. WSA may periodically host a NYCC but go HERE for courses held in other states.

  • U.S. Soccer also conducts the following advanced courses, which focus on coaching teenage and adult players. They combine classroom (theory) and field (practical) sessions, concluding with written, oral and practical examinations.

WSA Coaching Clinics

The National Soccer Coaches Association of American (NSCAA) offers a number of courses to expand the educational opportunities for Wyoming’s coaches. For more information on NSCAA courses, go to their website or contact the WYS director of coaching. WYS and US Youth Soccer have established guidelines to determine compatibility between USYS and NSCAA coach training.
