The site navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move across top level links and expand / close menus in sub levels. Up and Down arrows will open main level menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. Tab will move on to the next part of the site rather than go through menu items.
Wyoming Soccer Association Youth Session Plans and curriculum are organized by Player Age Groups and by Training Themes. Each Practice Plan is designed specifically to be age appropriate. Age groups are designated in even years (i.e. 6U, 8U, 10U, etc.) but the sessions are also appropriate for the odd year preceding the age group listed (e.g. 6U practice plans are appropriate for players aged 4, 5 or 6 years old). If you believe that your players need more or less challenge, feel free to try Practice Plans in an older or younger age group. Click on an age group button to view our session plans!
All WSA Youth Soccer Session and Curriculum plans follow US Soccer Grassroots Play-Practice-Play Methodology. U.S. Soccer developed and implemented the Play-Practice-Play methodology at the Grassroots level. Researched and developed by technical leaders, this player-centered approach allows coaches of all levels to help create training environments to fulfill the two basic needs of players of all ages: to have fun and to develop! The game of soccer is very unpredictable and free-flowing. It’s constantly changing between the moments of attacking, defending, and both transitional moments in between. Each of the three phases of Play-Practice-Play replicates those moments and are easy for the coach to implement. The environment provides players with what they like and with what they need to analyze the game, make decisions, be creative with their own solutions, and to ultimately become independent, critical thinkers.
