Coach Training
There
is an estimated 17,582,000 soccer players in the U.S. and 7,881,000 of those
players are under the age of 12. However, fewer than 20% of youth soccer coaches
have received any type of training. Furthermore, recent studies show that more
than 73% of all kids who play organized sports quit by the the age of 13. WyoSoccer
recognizes this and provides its affiliated associations several levels of coach
training.
The
courses include the:
-
Youth
Module. This is a 6-hour course designed for the novice coach of players in the U8 through U12 age groups. The course trains coaches on
age appropriate expectations and training methods for developing athletes
while instilling in the young player the love of the game.
Youth Module clinics can be customized to fit the needs of the
attendees and their levels of experience.
-
State
E Certificate Course. This is an 18-hour course designed to
cover the basic philosophy and methodology of the US
Soccer Federation guidelines for 11 v 11 play.
-
State/National
D License Course. This is a 36-hour course held over two
weekends. Candidates must be in possession of an E license for a year prior
to taking this course. Depending on the amount of verifiable coaching
experience, this requirement can be waived by the course instructors. This
is a preparatory course for the National C License.
